The Chickasaw County Historical & Genealogical Society, Inc., a 501(C)3 organization has set up a Museum Advisory Council. The purpose of the advisory council is to help the Society establish a museum in Houston and Chickasaw County. Members of the advisory council are Lamar Beaty, Alford Bell, Virginia Caldwell, Jan Dyson, Jim Gordon, Jerald Harmon, Williestein Harper, Gary Murphree and Thomas Rowlett. The first task of the advisory council will be to study various available locations throughout the City of Houston to determine the most feasible place to locate a museum. The advisory council has been meeting weekly.
